About this Health Package
What is Aarogyam F Plus FBS + Cancer Screening?
The Aarogyam F Plus FBS + Cancer Screening is the ultimate Thyrocare Aarogyam package — 139 parameters adding a 3-marker cancer biomarker screening panel to the already comprehensive F Plus FBS. It is the only Aarogyam package that screens for common cancers alongside a full preventive health workup, making it the most complete single-booking health assessment available.
Cancer biomarkers (CEA, AFP, PSA) do not definitively diagnose cancer but serve as important screening tools that, when elevated, prompt further investigation before symptoms develop. Combined with the 136-parameter F Plus baseline — including ANA, Anti-CCP, Lp-PLA2, Fasting Insulin, Toxic Elements and Complete Urine Analysis — this package leaves virtually no gap in preventive health monitoring.
Powered by Thyrocare — NABL-accredited, CAP-accredited labs. Reports within ~6 hours of samples reaching the lab.
Cancer Screening (3 Tests) — Exclusive to This Package
- CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen) — A tumour marker elevated in colorectal cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer and pancreatic cancer. CEA is used both as a screening marker and for monitoring known cancer treatment response. Elevated CEA in a non-smoker warrants further investigation. Also mildly elevated in benign conditions like inflammatory bowel disease, cirrhosis and smoking — interpretation must always be in clinical context.
- AFP (Alpha-Fetoprotein) — The primary screening biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) and testicular/ovarian germ cell tumours. Significantly elevated AFP in an adult with liver disease or a testicular mass is highly suspicious for malignancy. AFP is also used to monitor treatment response and detect recurrence in known liver cancer patients. India has a high prevalence of viral hepatitis (a major liver cancer risk factor), making AFP screening particularly relevant.
- PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) — The standard screening test for prostate cancer in men; the most common cancer in men above 50. Elevated PSA prompts further investigation including digital rectal examination and biopsy. PSA is also elevated in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostatitis. Men above 40 with family history of prostate cancer benefit significantly from regular PSA screening. Note: PSA is a male-specific marker; in women, this test serves as a general cancer marker baseline.

Important Note on Cancer Biomarkers
- Elevated cancer markers do not confirm cancer — they indicate the need for further investigation
- Normal cancer markers do not rule out cancer — they are screening tools, not diagnostic tests
- Results should always be interpreted by a qualified physician in the context of symptoms, clinical examination and other investigations
- Cancer markers are most valuable for monitoring known cancer and detecting recurrence, and as part of a comprehensive screening programme for high-risk individuals
